MAYOR Cllr Colin Parker and his wife Jean have attended the first social event to be held by the new committee of the Newton Abbot Twinning Association.

The outing at The Courtenay Centre on April 8 featured an ‘around the word’ quiz, raffle and selection of homemade cakes based on overseas recipes.

Members discussed strengthening links with their counterparts Ay in France and Besigheim in Germany and will soon publish an events programme for the rest of 2026.

MP Martin Wrigley was also present on the evening.
