GWR Poppy Train

The Mayor of Newton Abbot, Councillor Colin Parker, alongside representatives of our local community, delivered poppy wreaths to the GWR Poppy Train on Tuesday 11th November. A total of 250 wreaths werre trasported to Paddington Station from 60 stations across the South West, South Wales and the Costswolds - incluing our very own Newton Abbot Railway Station.

Councillor Colin Parker commented to say "I am pleased and hounoured to take part in the Poppies to Paddington on In it's sixth year, this is a truly wonderful and respectful addition to the Remembrance commemorations.

Our wreaths from Newton Abbot were part of the solem ceremony at Paddington Station.  One looks in awe at the display at Paddington, where the Queen was in attendance."
