I was born and bred in Kingsteignton on 3rd July 1953 and attended the local primary school and furthered my education at Highweek Secondary school for Boys in Newton Abbot.

On leaving school at 15 I trained to become an HGV fitter working for a local haulage company, after my apprenticeship I started working for WBB where I spent the next 26 years before taking redundancy in 2001, I have now retired from the Department for Transport as an Enforcement Support Officer giving me more time to put into the Town and my Town Council duties.

I have a son and a daughter, both married with children of their own.

I very much enjoy my role as a Councillor and am always keen to support the town in any way I can.

I am involved with various organisations within the town all of which I of which I keenly support

I am also a District Councillor where I put the interests of the residents of Newton Abbot first and foremost.

Met my husband Chris at a whist drive and we married in 1997. We have two daughters.

I have been married to my wife Jean for some 36 years and we have lived for over 30 years in Twickenham Road in the heart of my ward and she has run a Hairdressing Salon business here for almost all that time. We have two grown-up children and one grandson who all live locally.

I have worked in the Financial Services Industry as an Independent Financial Adviser for most of my life.

My hobbies are participating in Town events, Sport, Films and quiet days out.

I have been Chairman of the Town Councils’ Events Committee for 4 Years out the last 8 and also the Treasurer of the Newton Abbot Carnival for the last 7 years and I play a very active part in most of the Town Events even being one-third of the Town’s infamous Booze Brothers.

As a current Town Councillor for Milber and District Councillor for Buckland and Milber it is my belief there is no greater pleasure than trying to help my Community and on a wider basis the Town of Newton Abbot and the District as a whole.

It was a very great honour to have been Mayor of Newton Abbot in 2011/12.
