NEWTON ABBOT
TOWN DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
APPOINTED

Newton Abbot Town Centre Partnership has appointed a Town Development Manager, Mrs Sally Henley of Exeter, whose role will include co-ordinating the implementation of initiatives to improve the quality and economic viability of the town of Newton Abbot. Sally will be taking up post on 25th November.

Sally has over 20 years experience within the retail sector - much of this time spent visiting towns and cities across the whole of the South of England and Wales. Amongst the brands she has worked for are Next, Boots, M&Co and the QS Group. More recently Sally opened and managed the new Princesshay shopping centre, in Exeter.

Chairman of the Partnership, Jeremy Newcombe, said “We are delighted to announce the appointment of a Town Development Manager for Newton Abbot. Sally will bring a great deal of retail experience to the post and the Partnership is extremely excited at the prospect of Sally helping to develop further the retail offer in the town”.

“I have always been a huge fan of the town” Sally enthuses. “Newton Abbot is a vibrant place with much to offer and with great future potential.  I will be based in the heart of the town centre, but I certainly don’t plan to spend my time sitting at a desk! I am very much looking forward to getting out and about, meeting and talking with businesses and citizens; finding out what people like and just as importantly - what can be improved. I’m really looking forward to the 15th when I will be attending the switching on of the Christmas lights This is the time when businesses will be bracing themselves for what I am sure will be – despite the credit crunch - a prosperous Christmas.”
